| ENG SHEE DONG, of Lethbridge passed away on July 15, 2010 at the age of 97 years.
Eng Shee was born on December 2, 1912 in Yinping in the Guangdong province of China.. She married her late husband Frank Dong in 1933 in China. Frank had 2 young sons whom she raised in China while her husband returned to Canada. After the Chinese Exclusion Act was repealed in Canada, Eng Shee was finally able to join her husband by immigrating to Calgary in 1950. In 1952 they moved to Lethbridge. In 1964 her husband died leaving Eng Shee with 5 young children to bring up by herself. Family was the most important thing in life to Eng Shee. She was a doting grandmother and great-grandmother. Eng Shee was blessed with good health and an incredible memory. She enjoyed whenever her grandchildren and great-grandchildren came to visit. In the summers Eng Shee could be found tending her garden, and watering her plants, where she loved to spend her time. Eng Shee will be forever missed and will live in our hearts and memories forever.
Eng Shee is survived by her 2 daughters Pearl (Rik), Fa (David) and 3 sons Dichoy, Chuck (Mandy) and Ken (Hong Ping). She was predeceased by her step-son Dick Ying (Susan) in 1997. She is also survived by her grand children Martha (Jeff), Arlene, Eileen (Darcy), Martina, Nadia, Michael, Christina, Emily and Katy. She is also survived by her great-grand children Madison, Moriah, Talia and Jackson.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects between 6:00 PM and 8:00 PM on Sunday, July 18, 2010 at MARTIN BROS. RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 – 4th Street S., Lethbridge.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, July 19, 2010 at MARTIN BROS. RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 – 4th Street S., Lethbridge, with Pastor Amos Chan officiating. Interment to follow in Mountain View Cemetery.
Following the interment a reception will be held at the Regent Restaurant, 1255 – 3rd Avenue S., Lethbridge.
